The Black Label Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT 2017 from the winery I Balzini is a red wine with unforgettable aromas that thrill, excellent also at the end of a meal.
Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Vineyard: Pliocene origin soil, a sedimentary formation characterized by the presence of yellow sands alternating with clays. Notable presence of marine fossils.
Farming system: Soil cultivation alternated with cover cropping and spur pruning of the vine. Thinning of clusters during growth and final selection at harvest; during the harvest, the clusters are hand-picked, placed in small boxes, and further selected on the conveyor belt.
Winemaking: Maceration in temperature-controlled steel tanks at 26 – 28°C for about 2 weeks. Malolactic fermentation completed.
Aging: In medium-toasted French oak barrels, of which 50% are new, for about 12 months, followed by a bottle refinement period of at least 18 months.
Year: 2017
Alcohol Percentage: 14% vol.

Color: very intense and deep ruby red with purplish hints.
Aroma: intense and elegant, characterized by a blend of fruity and spicy notes. Hints of small black berries such as blackberry and blueberry emerge, along with notes of vanilla, tobacco, and cocoa.
Taste: full-bodied, very complex, and elegant. The tannic structure is firm, dense, and very refined. It has great flavor persistence. The aftertaste is very pleasant and clearly confirms the notes perceived by the nose.
