The Old Vines of Salco Nobile di Montepulciano BIO DOCG 2017 from the winery Salcheto is a wine from the Salco vineyard, the most mature and important one on the estate. A 2ha field, with vines aged 29-31 years, entirely cultivated with a company clone of Sangiovese Prugnolo Gentile that easily reaches a slight over-ripeness at each harvest. After 2 years in wood, it matures for up to 2 years in the bottle before being put on the market. This wine, born from the historic experience of the Salco vineyard, is dedicated to the Alliance Vinum project, the union of six producers of Montepulciano aimed at the growth of the individuals and the entire territory.

Color: ruby red in appearance, with a rim tending toward garnet.
Aroma: fresh leather, berry, and rose aromas give a seductive nose to this radiant red, along with balsamic and camphor notes.
Taste: compact and elegantly structured, it expresses ripe sour cherry, black raspberry, licorice, and crushed mint, all framed in a enveloping and fine tannic texture with lively acidity.
