The Lampante Montefalco Rosso Riserva DOC BIO 2017 by Tenute Lunelli is a wine of great structure and elegance. From the best selections of grapes from the "Le Fonti" and "Saraceno" vineyards, this edition of Montefalco Riserva is born. Its long aging takes place in the heart of the Carapace, the sculptural winery in Umbria by the Lunelli family, certified organic.
Grapes: Sangiovese 70%, Sagrantino 15%, Cabernet and Merlot 15%
Production Area: Proprietary vineyards in Bevagna.
Soil Type: Of a limy-clayey nature, excellent agronomic potential, well-structured and resistant to summer drought.
Trellising System: Spurred cordon
Fermentation Temperature: Cold pre-maceration at 12°C for 20 hours. Maximum fermentation temperature: 26°- 28°C in steel.
Maceration Time: 15 - 20 days.
Aging: 18 months in tonneaux and large barrels.
Refinement: Minimum 12 months in bottle.
Alcohol Content: 14% Vol.
The Lampante Montefalco Rosso Riserva DOC BIO 2017 from Tenute Lunelli is a great wine for rich meat dishes, also suitable for pairing with aged cheeses. For a typical pairing from tradition, try it with the Faraona alla narnese.
Visual examination: Stunning ruby that turns to garnet.
Olfactory: Intriguing, with sensations of wild violet, cherries in alcohol, sweet spices, and balsamic hints on a mineral graphite background.
Taste: On the palate, it explodes with vigor, soft and elegant, with a well-structured, mature, and balanced tannic texture. Broad on the finish, suggesting room for further aging.
