The Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil Il Frantoio BIO from La Basentana is obtained exclusively from olives sourced from the organic farms of the Lucanian company in Calciano, Matera.
Variety: Frantoio, Leccino, Majatica.
Harvesting and production methods: the olives are strictly hand-picked from the tree and transported in perforated boxes to the company’s mill, where they are crushed within 4 hours of harvesting.
The olives are destemmed and washed, then ground under granite millstones, malaxed in a controlled atmosphere at 24° C, and extracted using a continuous cold method.
The obtained oil is stored in stainless steel tanks, filtered after natural decantation over several days.
Chemical and organoleptic characteristics: the care taken in the various stages of harvesting and processing gives this extra virgin oil a Premium quality.
