It is ready to be spread on a classic slice of toasted bread or bruschetta, preferably rubbed with garlic, or used as a condiment for first courses.

Paccucce are a specialty of the tradition of Colmurano, a town in the province of Macerata. “Paccuccia” means “slice,” referring to the slices of apple or pear cut and preserved according to this particular recipe that allowed the fruit to be kept for the winter. The Paccucce from Colmurano by Le Spiazzette are made by drying the Rosa apples in the oven at low temperature, which are then soaked in cooked wine and packaged in glass jars. A true delight!
