Made with a mixture of 100% Sardinian durum wheat, yeast, salt, and water, the processing of Pane Carasau involves preparing a dough that is rolled out into thin sheets. The baking takes place in two phases: the first allows the sheet to rise and separate into two layers, while the second, called carasatura, toasts the bread, giving it the crunchiness and fragrance that make it so special.
