Organic re-milled Kamut Khorasan Semolina 1kg

Let's clarify a bit. Kamut is an Egyptian word that means wheat. However, Kamut is also the name of the American company founded in Montana by Bob Quinn, an organic farmer and doctor in plant pathology. The term Kamut should always be followed by the registered "R" to indicate a protected trademark. The generic term Khorasan instead refers to the cultivar registered on December 30, 2003, also in Montana by the USDA. Khorasan is the name of the Iranian region from where this grain originates and where the first kernel arrived in 1921. Nutritionally, it is rich in zinc, magnesium, and selenium. The grain is 2-3 times larger than durum wheat grains and therefore contains higher amounts of proteins, vitamins, amino acids, and minerals. It contains gluten, although in minimal quantities, and thus can be preferred by individuals who have some difficulty tolerating gluten.

Origin: USA/Canada
Maximum duration: 8 months
Storage: in a cool, dry place
Allergens: may contain gluten. Produced in a facility that also processes soy and sesame seeds.
BIO Certification: ICEA

Organic re-milled Kamut Khorasan Semolina 1kg: How is it produced

Antico Molino Rosso, Veneto

The sweet little boat resting on the Menago stream welcomes all those who arrive for the first time at the Antico Molino Rosso by Gaetano Mirandola. A suggestive image that captures the essence of this beautiful Organic reality of high-quality flour and grain production. Water, earth, man. The virtuous triangle that generates life. Gaetano Mirandola has always been recognized as one of the most active and important ambassadors and communicators of the BIO value in Italy. Starting from the province of Verona, from lands unknown to most, with a centuries-old cereal vocation among ancient riverbeds, products from the old paths of the Adige and its branches in ditches and streams that have served the local populations and their harvests. Once, the lands of lower Verona were full of mills, and even today there are significant testimonies like those of Molino Rosso. In these places, Gaetano Mirandola has created a laboratory company of ideas even before a true and proper dusty mill for flours and grains. Here he developed his idea of nutritional balance based on knowledge. A value that concerns not only his company but especially those who work the land to produce in a healthy and responsible manner, respectful of the environment and its integrity. A strong action of awareness and communication towards grain-producing companies, bakers, and all the artisans who worked those flours. An effort that has borne fruit and today has changed the way the quality of mill products is conceived among operators and, increasingly, among consumers. When you buy a Molino Rosso flour, you participate in a process of environmental, economic, and productive sustainability. All in respect of human rights and the cleanliness of creation. Gaetano Mirandola has accustomed the world of communication to speak of bio-dedicated companies, that is, realities that produce only what they can based on the seasons and what Mother Nature reserves each year. There’s nothing chemically forced. Nothing stressful for nature and plants. It’s a new concept that brings man closer to the earth and makes him a participant in its essentiality. We selected the products together with Gaetano who reserved an exclusive for us that enriches our virtual shelves; that sixth sense that every form of life has… its soul.
