Cooked ham is not a sausage and is not even a seasoned sausage, but, as the name itself says, it is a cooked sausage and is partially covered with rind. The differences with raw ham? The cooked one is on average boneless, salted, syringed with brine (or salt water), massaged, but takes its name from steaming in metal forms that give it its well-known shape that can be easily sliced. The raw, on the other hand, is not normally boned (but it can be boned depending on the denomination): the pork leg is simply salted and aged for a certain number of months.
Cooked ham is a fairly lean food because 100 grams of product provide only 178 kcalories and contain 9 grams of fat, on the other hand, due to the brine in which it is prepared, the sodium content is decidedly high, about 1500 mg. How is it served? L&' ideal is to enjoy the product 20 minutes after cutting, so that the aromatic components can best be highlighted.
